Roadmap
x402 CLI is an early-stage experimental project. This roadmap outlines planned phases — timelines are indicative and subject to change as research and development progress.
Phase 1 · Current
Launch x402cli.xyz with project overview, developer documentation, interactive terminal preview, registry preview, and this public roadmap. Establish the visual identity and core messaging for the project.
Phase 2
Build a working prototype that probes real endpoints and detects HTTP 402 responses. Parse x402 payment requirement fields including network, asset, amount, scheme, and resource metadata.
Phase 3
Research and document the full payment flow on Base using USDC — from 402 response to payment proof to authenticated retry. Prototype without committing to production payment execution.
Phase 4
Enable API builders to submit and list x402-compatible endpoints in a public registry with verified pricing, network, and availability metadata.
Phase 5
Structured agent mode output for AI tools and automation pipelines — enabling autonomous discovery, inspection, and preparation of x402 payment flows.
x402 CLI is actively in Phase 1. The installable CLI package is not yet available. This website represents the current deliverable — a clear entry point for developers interested in x402, Base, and USDC-based API payments.
We are building in public with honest scope. Features listed in later phases are research goals, not commitments. No token, presale, or investment mechanism is associated with this project.
